# Exeter Strimming Services > Strimming and overgrowth clearance in Exeter and 20 miles around. Gardens, brambles, banks and paddocks cut back and cleared at £60 an hour, two hour minimum. Exeter Strimming Services is the strimming and overgrowth clearance service line of Hembury Contracting, a sole trader business run by Sam Hembury from Exeter, Devon. Work is priced by the hour from a published rate card rather than quoted after a site visit: send a postcode, a rough size and a few photographs and an estimate in hours comes back. The cut material is cleared in the same visit under waste carrier registration CBDU641882, or left on site if that is what you want. ## What it does - [Overgrown garden strimming and clearance](https://exeterstrimming.co.uk/services/overgrown-garden-clearance): A garden that has stood for a season or several, cut down to ground level in one visit and raked off so you can see what you have got. - [Brambles, nettles and bracken brush cutting](https://exeterstrimming.co.uk/services/brambles-nettles-bracken): Woody, thorny growth taken down with a metal blade: bramble thickets, standing nettle beds, bracken slopes and light scrub that has taken over. - [Banks, verges, paddocks and field edges](https://exeterstrimming.co.uk/services/banks-verges-paddocks): The ground a mower cannot get to: steep hedgebanks, roadside verges, paddock and field margins, hedge bases, fence lines and the awkward strip round the edge. ## What it costs - £60 an hour including VAT - Two hour minimum, so £120 is the smallest job - Half a day, four hours, is £240 - A full day, eight hours, is £480 - A second person on the job is £30 an hour on top - Waste removal is charged at cost, which is whatever the tip charges for the load - A 50% deposit of the estimated time books the date, and the balance is due when the work is done There is no free site visit as standard, no per job quote and nothing to negotiate. The published rate is the whole pricing model, and what a job costs depends on how many hours it takes. ## Where it works Exeter and roughly 20 miles around. Send photographs and a postcode. Two or three photographs from different corners, and a rough size: metres if you know them, car lengths or a comparison to a tennis court if you do not. Say how tall the growth is at its worst. 2. An estimate in hours comes back. Not a fixed price for the job, but a number of hours and what that should achieve, plus what would make it quicker or slower. If the job wants two people, that is said now rather than on the day. 3. A 50% deposit holds the date. Half the estimated time, paid to book. That is what fixes the day in the diary. Weather moves dates sometimes, and you are told when it does rather than left wondering. 4. The visit. A walk round first to mark anything hiding in the growth, then the cut, then the rake off and the load out. Most domestic jobs are a single visit from start to finish. 5. The balance when it is done. You pay for the time actually used, subject to the two hour minimum. Invoiced by Hembury Contracting with the VAT shown, and photographs of the finished ground if you were not there. ## Key pages - [Home](https://exeterstrimming.co.uk/): Strimming and overgrowth clearance across Exeter and 20 miles around.
